The Transformational Chairwork Psychotherapy Project

Heal the Past, Claim the Present, Create the Future – One Dialogue at a Time

The Transformational Chairwork Psychotherapy Project is dedicated to the advancement of both Gestalt Chairwork and Schema Mode Therapy.  At present, I envision this taking several forms.

Psychotherapy Practice: My practice is fundamentally based on my study of the Art and Science of Chairwork.  Building on a foundation provided by Schema Mode Therapy, I strive to help patients who are wrestling with:

(1) Interpersonal Strife – loss, grief, mistreatment, and difficult relationships;

(2) Internal Difficulties – self-criticism, depression, impulsivity, and fear;

(3) Embracing the Heroic Life – making decisions, being assertive, acting with courage, and creating the future;

(4) Addictions – problematic relationships with drugs and alcohol.  This will be approached using Humanistic Addiction Psychotherapy.

While not always the case, this combination of evidence-supported therapies can lead to rapid healing and problem resolution.  In those patients who are willing and able to work in a focused manner, this may take place within six to ten sessions.

At present, I treat patients in New York City. My phone number is 917-847-8628 and my email is scott.kellogg@nyu.edu
